Influenced by a family rich in artistic talent, I discovered my love for art at the age of six. This early inspiration quickly grew into a lifelong passion, leading me to pursue formal studies in Visual Arts at the University of California, San Diego, where I earned a degree focused on Studio Arts. Here, I developed a deep appreciation for various media and techniques, which has informed my current practice. My early exposure to art shaped my creative journey, instilling a commitment to express emotion and movement in each piece I create.
My work is heavily inspired by the Impressionist Era, with artists like Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh holding a special place in my heart. Their exploration of light, color, and atmosphere has profoundly influenced my artistic style. Working primarily with watercolors and acrylics on paper and canvas, I strive to capture the vibrancy and fluidity that define the Impressionist approach. Through loose brushwork and a dynamic color palette, I aim to evoke a sense of immediacy and emotion, drawing viewers into a shared experience of light and nature.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of showcasing my work at festivals around Hampton Roads, where I connect with a community of art enthusiasts and fellow creators. These festivals provide an exciting opportunity to engage directly with viewers, hear their interpretations, and find new inspiration for future pieces. As I continue to develop my style, my goal remains to create art that celebrates both the beauty of the natural world and the timeless influence of the Impressionist masters.
